Hoyle Nix (1918-1985) was a West Texas fiddler and bandleader who formed the West Texas Cowboys in 1946 with his brother Ben. He was a prominent figure in western swing music, following the Bob Wills tradition, and recorded the hit 'A Big Ball's in Cowtown' in 1949.
