Wes Montgomery
Wes Montgomery (1923–1968) was an American jazz guitarist from Indianapolis, Indiana, celebrated for his innovative thumb-picking technique and octave-playing style. He signed with Riverside Records in 1959 on Cannonball Adderley's recommendation, later moving through Verve and to A&M Records around 1967, with 'The Incredible Jazz Guitar of Wes Montgomery' and 'A Day in the Life' marking key points in his discography.
