Meshell Ndegeocello
Meshell Ndegeocello is an American singer-songwriter, poet, and bassist who began her career in the D.C. go-go circuit in the late 1980s before releasing her debut album Plantation Lullabies on Madonna's Maverick Records in 1993. She has released 13 studio albums and is recognized as one of the artists that sparked the neo-soul movement, incorporating funk, soul, jazz, hip hop, reggae, and rock into her music.
