James Whitbourn (1963–2024) was a British composer and conductor from Tunbridge Wells, Kent, best known internationally for choral music, including the Anne Frank-based oratorio 'Annelies', as well as compositions for film, television, and concert hall. He also worked at the BBC and was affiliated with Oxford's St Edmund Hall, and died in March 2024 from cancer, with obituaries appearing in The Guardian, The Telegraph, and Church Times.
