"Roaming through the jungle, the jungle of "oohs" and "ahs," searching for a more agreeable noise, I live a life of primitivity with the mind of a child and an unquenchable thirst for sharps and flats." - Duke Ellington

Its a great album. Recently, I've also been loving Duke Ellington's, 1961 release, "Piano In The Foreground." The way it was recorded is a stroke of genius.

Hardly any of the tracks were said and planned - they just started playing and there are 4 completely improvised pieces, all played for the first time in the studio. It really captures the essence of what makes jazz great - great musicians, just having a conversation with each other in the moment.
