Chuck Mangione was an American jazz flugelhorn/trumpet player, composer, and bandleader from Rochester, New York, who rose from Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers and the Jazz Brothers (with his brother Gap) to lead his own quartet. He achieved major crossover pop success with 'Feels So Good' in 1978 and won two Grammy Awards and an Emmy Award before his death on July 22, 2025, at age 84.

Mangione was hitting some incredible notes on his horn, and as the band jammed to Land of Make Believe, hundreds of concert goers started blowing bubbles. i remember gazing upwards into this incredible blue sky until those bubbles were no longer visible ~~RIP~~

i was blessed to see Chuck Mangione perform at an outdoor concert in the late '70s at The Greek Theatre in Berkeley, California. A vivid memory from that amazing day was etched deep in my consciousness. It again emerged on hearing of his passing.
