Antony and the Johnsons (later renamed Anohni and the Johnsons) is a New York-based musical ensemble led by English singer-songwriter Anohni (formerly Antony Hegarty), who writes the songs and serves as singer, pianist, and composer. The group's self-titled debut album was recorded in 1998 and released in 2000 (reissued 2004), followed by the Mercury Prize-winning 'I Am a Bird Now' in 2005.
